Winter Weather Phenomenon!
Large Snowballs Formed During A Snowstorm
The Evening of March 23 2001!
Saturday morning March 24th 2001 we woke up to
surprising, "Once In A Lifetime" phenomenon. Large
"snowballs" called "Snow Rollers" covered the fields of our farm. I took
these photos between 7:30 - 8:30 AM while the sun was low and
the snowballs were in good relief.
The "snowballs" averaging 12" - 14" in diameter
with a few measuring in excess of 24"'s
were made by a unique combination of wind and weather! Large
wet and fluffy snowflakes were caught by the wind and "rolled"
into what you will see in the pictures.
Many of the photos clearly show the erratic paths traced by them
as they were being formed.
While we can't promise you strange weather while enjoying a
Sleighride
at our farm, we can promise you a unique experience.
